MORAGA, Calif. – California's top-seeded doubles pair of Karla Popovic and Olivia Hauger won Saturday to reach Sunday's Doubles A final in the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational, even as the Golden Bears continued towards a potential clash with each other in top-flight singles at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

Hauger, a sophomore, and Popovic, a junior, defeated Emma Critser and Parminder Kaur of Saint Mary's, 8-3, in the doubles semifinals and will face two more Gaels – the second-seeded Jana McCord and Jacqueline Pelletier – for the title at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The top-seeded and 90th-ranked Popovic lost just two games en route to winning two matches in the Singles A bracket on Saturday. First she bested San Francisco's Joselyn Treyes Albarracin, 6-2, 6-0, in the round of 16 and then she made quick work of the eighth-seeded Pelletier in the quarterfinals with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph. Popovic will face McCord, the seventh seed, in Sunday's semi at 10:30 a.m.

On the other side of the bracket, the third-seeded and 86th-ranked Hauger beat Santa Clara's Madison Clarke, 6-1 ,6-4, and then knocked off Jessie Lee of UC Davis, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1. She next takes on Stanford's second-seeded Emma Higuchi in the other Sunday semi at 10:30 a.m.

The Gaels' tournament ends on Sunday.
