TULSA, Okla. – Filip Bergevi and Florian Lakat booked their ticket to the doubles final when the California seniors beat a Wake Forest pair in Sunday's semifinals at the Saint Francis Health System All-American Championships. The second-seeded and second-ranked Golden Bears edged the third-seeded Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim, 6-3, 6-7(4), 1-0(8), in the semifinal at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa.

The Cal duo will take on an unseeded and unranked pair from North Florida – Jack Findel-Hawkins and Lasse Muscheites – in the main draw doubles final at 10 a.m. CT on Monday.

"Flo and Filip played well today," Cal head coach Peter Wright said. "They were particularly impressive at the net winning several key points in rapid-fire exchanges. They continue to win with their powerful serves, and their return percentages have improved over the week."

With their win in the doubles semis, the two Bears also clinched spots in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships taking place from Nov. 3-6 in Flushing Meadows, New York. Lakat had already claimed a singles berth to the indoor championships with his appearance in the main draw quarterfinals in Tulsa.

Also on Sunday, in the consolation singles semis, Cal senior Andre Goransson – seeded fourth and ranked 17th – fell to North Carolina's top-seeded and 10th-ranked Ronnie Schneider, 6-3, 6-4.

"Andre lost a couple of no-ad points to lose the first set, but he rebounded to take an early lead in the second set," Wright said. "Overall, he had a good tournament, and I'm impressed with the progress he's been making."
