Cal-Alcorn State Postgame Notes

  • With today's 83-59 victory, Cal won its 25th game in a row at Haas Pavilion. The run is the second longest in school history, trailing only the record 26 set from Dec. 27, 1958, to Dec. 16, 1960. The Bears can tie the record with a victory over. UC Davis on Dec. 10 and could break it vs. Cal Poly on Dec. 17. The current streak dates back to March 1, 2015.
  • Cal's 25-game run is also the fifth-longest current homecourt streak in the country.
  • For the second game in a row, Ivan Rabb set a career high in scoring. He had 25 in Wednesday's win over Louisiana Tech and finished with 26 points against Alcorn State (10-12 FG, 6-7 FT). With the total, it marked the 13th game in a row he has reached double figures. Rabb had 18 points at the half and only scored more than 18 in three full games as a freshman last season.
  • Roger Moute a Bidias tied a career high with 12 points, last reaching the total against Wyoming Nov. 25.
  • After pulling down a career-best 12 rebounds vs. Louisiana Tech Wednesday night, Kingsley Okoroh grabbed a team-high 9 boards against Alcorn State. He's had at least 9 rebounds in four of his last five games.
  • Cal is now 22-2 in non-conference home games under head coach Cuonzo Martin.
  • The Bears entered the game shooting just 41.1 percent from the floor for the season, but made 51.7 percent of their field goal attempts (30-58).
  • Roman Davis scored the first points of his career on a put-back with 2:55 left in the first half. He finished with 3 points.
  • Cal led, 44-25, at the break, ending the first half on an 18-6 run that included spurts of 9-0 and 7-0.
  • Don Coleman scored a career-best 10 points.
  • Cole Welle came off the bench to score 6 points, his highest total as a Bear.
  • Three players who have started at least one game this season did not suit up for the Bears – senior G Jabari Bird missed his sixth consecutive game due to back spasms and junior C Kameron Rooks is out for 4-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery this week, and senior G Grant Mullins was not present due to a death in his family.
