FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The No. 6 Cal women's swimming & diving team notched two titles Thursday during the second day of the 2016 Pac-12 Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.

Junior Farida Osman set a new school record and the fastest time in the nation this season by winning the 50 free in a time of 21.32. Osman beat Liv Jensen's previous Cal-best time of 21.48, set in 2012.

Meanwhile, the Bears' 200 free relay team of Osman, junior Kristen Vredeveld, senior Rachel Bootsma and freshman Amy Bilquist captured the Pac-12 title in a time of 1:26.77, which is also the top time in the country this season.

“It was a really, good solid evening,” Cal coach Teri McKeever said. “We need them to continue to be tough.”

Freshman Kathleen Baker swam a lifetime best and the second-fastest time in the country this season in the 200 individual medley and finished second with a mark of 1:52.80. She was one of four Golden Bears to advance to the championship final. Junior Celina Li placed fourth with a season-best time of 1:55.79, senior Kelly Naze was fifth with a lifetime best time of 1:55.98 and senior Elizabeth Pelton was sixth at 1:56.19.

Bilquist also advanced to the championship final of the 50 free and placed seventh with a lifetime best time of 22.14.

The Bears sit in third place in the team standings with 477.5 points after two days of competition. Stanford leads with 557 points while USC is second with 512.

The meet continues Friday with 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay.

Wednesday and Thursday's competition will air on the Pac-12 Networks on a tape-delay basis Friday at 10 a.m.
