MATARO, Spain - Cal driver Roser Tarrago, a silver medalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics who will be heading to the 2016 Games in Rio later this year, helped her club team capture the prestigious LEN Trophy last weekend.

Playing in her hometown of Mataro, Spain, Tarrago led CN Mataro to a 6-5 victory over Vouliagmeni of Greece in the championship match. Incoming Cal freshman Eleni Xenaki plays for Vouliagmeni and scored a goal in the finals.

The LEN trophy is the culmination of an annual highly-competitive club tournament in Europe.

Spain earned a spot in Rio at last month's Olympic Qualification Tournament. Tarrago is one of three current Cal women's water polo players who will participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Dora Antal and Anna Illes also earned a berth with Hungary.

Tarrago, Antal and Illes all redshirted the 2016 season to train with their respective national teams and will return to Cal in the fall.
