STOCKTON, Calif. – California's Maegan Manasse has stayed busy during summer break, with the Golden Bear star reaching Saturday's final of the Stockton Challenger at the University of Pacific's Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. The rising senior teamed up with former UCLA Bruin Robin Anderson to win three matches before falling in the championship match to the fourth-seeded Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic and Alison van Uytvanck of Belgium, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Manasse and Anderson advanced to the final when they had a walkover in the Friday semifinal, in which they were supposed to play the top-seeded pair of Americans Asia Muhammad and Taylor Townsend. In Thursday's quarterfinal, Manasse and Anderson edged Belgium's Greet Minnen and Japan's Riko Sawayanagi, 6-4, 7-6(6). On Wednesday, the round of 16 match was an All-Pac-12 affair, as Manasse and Anderson knocked off former USC Trojans Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria, 2-6, 6-3, 11-9.
 
In singles qualifying on July 10 in Stockton, Manasse lost to sixth-seeded American Jennifer Elie, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
 
On Sunday, Manasse will begin play in the Gold River Women's Challenger in Gold River, California, near Sacramento. The rising senior will take on fellow American Ashley Weinhold in singles qualifying starting at 10 a.m. at the Gold River Racquet Club.
 
Also on Sunday, Cal's Olivia Hauger – a sophomore in 2016-17 – opens singles qualifying in the Women's Hospital Deaconess 2016 Classic in Evansville, Indiana. Incoming Cal freshman Alexis Nelson also plays in singles qualifying in the Evansville tournament starting Sunday.
 
Cal's rising senior Stephane Lin and rising junior Audrey Mayer are playing in the 2016 ITA Summer Circuit tournament at UC Davis. Lin – seeded second in singles – and Mayer face each other in a Sunday quarterfinal match at 10:30 a.m. The two Bears will also open doubles play on Sunday in Davis.
