SAN FRANCISCO -- California women's gymnastics is projected to finish third in the Pac-12 this season, according to a vote by the league's gymnastics coaches.
UCLA, who finished fourth at the 2017 NCAA Gymnastics Championships, was predicted to finish first this season with five first-place votes and 47 total points. 2017 Pac-12 Champion Utah, fifth at the national championships, received three first-place votes and 44 points, while the Bears earned 30 points in the polls.
Washington (28 points) is fourth in the coaches poll, Oregon State and Stanford tied for fifth with 27 points and Arizona (12) and Arizona State (9) round out the poll.
Six of the league's programs are also among the Road to Nationals preseason top 20, with all eight conference teams appearing in the top 35 nationally. The Golden Bears are ranked 11th in the national poll, their second-highest preseason ranking in school history.
California's newest roster features a number of veterans, including 2016 Olympian and four-time NACGC/W Regular-Season All-American
