Jansen Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week
BERKELEY – Maya Jansen claimed the first Pac-12 Player of the Week honor of her career as a Golden Bear when the Conference honored the California graduate student on Monday for her play in the recent ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championship.

Jansen, from Valleyford, Washington, clinched the 4-0 win over Georgia Tech in the first round with her court-five singles victory over the 92nd-ranked Nami Otsuka, 6-2, 6-1, on Feb. 10. She also posted an upset of Oklahoma State's 77th-ranked Sofia, Blanco, 6-2, 6-2, on Sunday and defeated North Carolina's Rachael James-Baker, 6-2,7-5, on Feb. 11 at national indoors.

In doubles, the 49th-ranked pair of Jansen and senior
Maegan Manasse upset Oklahoma State's fifth-ranked doubles team of Vladica Babic and Carla Tur Mari, 6-3, at the tournament in Connecticut.
This marks Cal's league-leading 37th Pac-12 Player of the Week accolade and the first of the 2016-17 season for the Bears.

Cal next hosts UCLA – in a match broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks – on Feb. 24 and then hosts USC on Feb. 25 at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
