EUGENE, Ore. - Filip Bergevi, Andre Goransson and finally Florian Lakat rallied No. 12 California to a 4-3 victory over 23rd-ranked Oregon on Friday at the Student Tennis Center. Cal trailed the Ducks 3-1 before the three seniors led the comeback. Lakat, ranked 15th, capped the win with his 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 result against the 26th-ranked Thomas Laurent at court-one singles.

Cal improved to 16-6 overall and to 3-1 in the Pac-12 Conference. Oregon is now 14-7 (2-3 Pac-12).

The Cal seniors also came up big in doubles. After the teams split the first two doubles matches, the fourth-ranked pair of Bergevi and Lakat beat Jayson Amos and Ty Gentry, 7-5, to clinch and give Cal a 1-0 lead.
 
But three straight losses in singles left the Bears in a 3-1 hole.
 
Bergevi began the comeback with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Amos on court four. Goransson, ranked 45th, then beat Simon Steven, 7-5, 6-3, on court two, to set up Lakat to clinch.
 
"Our seniors showed a lot of grit today," Cal head coach Peter Wright said. "We're going to miss their leadership after the season, but right now their experience is key to our success. Give a lot of credit to Oregon for having one of their best teams ever. We had to battle every step of the way today.
 
"We have a day off tomorrow and then we take on a very solid Washington team, so the rest will give us some much needed time to heal and prepare."
 
Cal plays at Washington in Seattle on Sunday at 12 p.m.
