ST. LOUIS, Mo. – California women's gymnastics senior Desiree Palomares capped off her collegiate career with a strong performance on the balance beam at the NCAA Championships on Friday evening in Chaifetz Arena.

Palomares, who qualified to the national championships as a specialist on beam, posted a 9.80 in her final performance.

The finale completes a successful collegiate career that saw Palomares win 10 beam titles, including the NCAA Fayetteville Regional balance beam championship earlier this month. Palomares became the first Golden Bear in program history to win a regional beam title when she brought home Cal's sixth overall individual regional title with her career-high 9.90.
