Cal Men’s And Women’s Golf Teams Partner With Parsons Xtreme Golf

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Cal men's and women's golf teams have launched a partnership with Parsons Xtreme Golf as one of the inaugural schools in the newly-launched University Program. PXG has expanded its interest in elite players to include top student-athletes and coaches at six NCAA Division I universities, and will be providing tour-level fittings and golf equipment to support their pursuit of excellence.

Along with Cal, Duke, Oklahoma, Oregon, Southern Methodist University, and Vanderbilt have also penned deals with PXG. The relationships through the PXG University Program provide equal support to both the men's and women's golf teams.

"Partnering up with PXG is a dream come true in so many ways for the Cal Golf program," Cal's Alex and Marie Shipman Director of Men's Golf Walter Chun said. "We're so fortunate to be recognized by PXG, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds. I also want to thank Mr. Parsons for all he has done to grow the game and how much he has done for college golf."

"Cal Golf is extremely excited to have the opportunity to play PXG clubs and have the custom fitting for which they are so well known," said Cal women's golf head coach Nancy McDaniel, who is entering her 23rd season in Berkeley. "We have not had this opportunity in the 22 years of the women's program from any golf club company and are thrilled to offer such quality equipment to our entire team.  Our sincere gratitude goes out to Mr. Parsons for recognizing both the men's and women's programs at Cal and around the country as he grows the game at the collegiate level."

The addition of a University Program is a natural next step in the evolution of PXG, which has experienced explosive growth since introducing its groundbreaking technology just a few years ago. With a current roster of 18 tour professionals, the PXG University Program further solidifies the company's commitment to support players at all levels.

"It is beyond me that the men's and women's golf teams are frequently afforded different levels of support," said PXG founder Bob Parsons. "At PXG, we make golf clubs for golfers. Period. The schools we choose to partner with will receive equal sponsorship for both the men's and women's teams."
