Cal (7-15, 1-8 Pac-12) vs. Oregon (14-7, 4-4 Pac-12)
California returns to Haas Pavilion looking to get back on track with their second win of conference play when the Golden Bears host the Oregon Ducks on Thursday at 6 p.m. Pac-12 Networks will carry all the action from Pete Newell Court, with the radio broadcast available on KGO 810 AM.
The Golden Bears are on an eight-game losing skid, their worst since the 1991-92 season, and look to right the ship with help from one of the Pac-12's most impressive freshmen in
Justice Sueing. The Honolulu, Hawai'i product is second among the league's freshmen in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and scoring (18.3 ppg) in conference play, only behind Arizona standout Deandre Ayton. Sueing has scored in double figures in every game of conference play and also leads the conference's freshmen in steals.
The rookie has been helped in the front court by Cal big man
Marcus Lee, who has matched his career-best 23 points twice in the last three games. Lee is shooting 58.5 percent (117-200) this season, a mark that ranks 34th in the country. The forward recorded his sixth double-double of the season in his 23-point, 12-rebound outing at USC, scoring 17 of his 23 points in the second half.Â
The Ducks are riding a two-game winning streak, led by sophomore Payton Pritchard, who's averaging 16.0 points in Oregon's last five games. The young Ducks are also seeing production from Kenny Wooten, who leads the Pac-12 in blocks (2.8 bpg) and frosh Troy Brown Jr., who's averaging 11.3 ppg.
