SEATTLE – California forged deeper into the ITA Northwest Regional Championships on Saturday, as one Golden Bear duo reached the doubles semifinals and two Bears moved into the singles quarterfinals at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

In the doubles quarterfinals, sophomores Can Kaya and Paul Barretto defeated Fresno State's Cem Erturk and Mantas Bugailiskis, 8-6. The Bears will face host Washington's Jack Davis and Piers Foley on Sunday for a berth in Monday's final.

Jacob Brumm and Yuta Kikuchi – who enjoyed doubles success together in their last tournament – both won in the singles round of 16 on Saturday. Brumm, a sophomore ranked 102nd and seeded fifth in Seattle, beat Oregon's Ty Gentry, 7-5, 7-6(6), and Kikuchi, a freshman also seeded fifth, topped the Bulldogs' Bugailiskis, 6-2, 6-2. But Cal sophomore Jack Molloy – seeded third and ranked 113th – fell to Pacific's Philip Hjorth, 6-4, 7-6(8).

Sunday's singles quarterfinals will feature two Cal-Stanford matches, with Brumm taking on the top-seeded and 63rd-ranked Sameer Kumar and Kikuchi playing Timothy Sah.
