BERKELEY – Veteran sportscaster Rich Cellini has been named the new radio play-by-play voice for Cal men's basketball, where he will team with Todd McKim to call Golden Bear games for the 2018-19 season. 
 
Cellini's vast experience includes work with a wide variety of teams, sports and networks over his 20- year broadcasting career. He has broadcast for ESPN, ESPN Radio, Fox Sports, ABC Sports, CBS Sports Network, AXS and the Pac-12 Networks among others. His radio credits include a three-year stint calling the college football game of the week for Sports USA Radio Network, and two seasons of calling ESPN Radio's national broadcasts of USC Football. He has also called the NFL for the then-San Diego Chargers Radio Network, and has been a member of the preseason broadcast teams for the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Chargers. A versatile broadcaster, Cellini started his career calling Triple-A baseball for the Fresno Grizzlies and along the way has called football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, swimming, track and field, water polo and the Little 500 Bike Race.
 
Cellini, who earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in communications from Fresno State, and holds a Ph.D. in sports administration from New Mexico, is a professor in the University of San Francisco's Sport Management Program, where he teaches courses in Leadership and Critical Thinking, Internship in Sport Management, and Media and the Sport Industry.

McKim is back for his 13th season on the broadcast team and returns to his original role as analyst after serving the past several years as Cal's play-by-play announcer. In addition, McKim is the sideline reporter for Cal football radio broadcasts and hosts Cal Athletics' weekly podcast, Bear in Mind.
 
KGO Radio (AM 810) serves as the Cal men's basketball flagship station, with additional affiliates in Sacramento (KAHI, 950 AM) and Modesto (KESP, 970 AM).
