Air Quality Update
Information On Home Events For Saturday, Nov. 10
BERKELEY – With smoke from the wildfires in Butte County affecting air quality in the Bay Area, Cal Athletics is monitoring the situation closely, including reviewing data provided by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) and staying in regular communication with officials from Pac-12.
Â
Using the Air Quality Index (AQI) as a guide, Cal and its sports medicine staff are following guidelines established by the
NCAA and Pac-12 to determine whether to continue planned competitions and practices. The AQI can fluctuate as conditions change, and if it reaches levels where physical exertion is considered dangerous, we will take appropriate measures for the health and safety of student-athletes, fans and officials, including postponing or cancelling events, if necessary.
Â
Cal has two scheduled outdoor home events for Saturday, Nov. 10, both scheduled to start at 12 noon – a men's water polo match vs. Stanford at Spieker Aquatics Center and a women's swimming & diving meet vs. Texas at Legends Aquatic Center.
As of 11:15 a.m., both events are planned as scheduled. Fans should check this webpage or @CalWaterPolo or @CalWSwim Twitter feeds for updates.
