BROOKLYN, N.Y. (AP) -- California men's basketball couldn't overcome its slow start, and the Golden Bears fell to Temple, 76-59, Tuesday in the third-place game of the GotPrint.com Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper.
Darius McNeill led the Bears with 12 points, including a 3-for-5 clip from three-point range. He hit a combined eight threes in back-to-back games at the Legends Classic.
McNeill was one of four Bears in double figures, with
Andre Kelly,
Matt Bradley and
Paris Austin chipping in 10 apiece.

Temple's Quinton Rose scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half and Shizz Alston Jr. turned in a double-double.
Rose made 11 of 20 shots and the Owls (5-1) shot 54 percent, including 9 of 21 from the arc for 43 percent. Alston, who had three 3-pointers, grabbed 10 rebounds. He scored nine points and Nate Pierre-Louis scored all nine of his in the second half when the Owls pulled away after leading 32-28 at halftime.
Pierre-Louis scored five points and Alston four in a 9-0 run that left the Owls up 72-54 with two minutes left.
Cal returns home to host Santa Clara on Monday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. The game airs on the Pac-12 Networks.
