Cal vs. Santa Clara
After traveling more than 20,000 miles in a 20-day span, California men's basketball returns to the Golden State to continue its nonconference slate in home sweet Haas beginning Monday, Nov. 26. The Golden Bears host the Santa Clara Broncos at 6 p.m. on Pete Newell Court in Haas Pavilion, airing live on Pac-12 Networks.
Monday's game marks the beginning of a 12-game "home" stretch that keeps the Bears in California. The Bears will only travel as far as Los Angeles after logging more than 20,000 miles between Shanghai, China and Brooklyn, N.Y. -- the most travel by any NCAA team in the nonconference slate.
Cal is coming off two losses at the GotPrint.com Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. The Bears fell to eventual tournament champion St. John's by just three points, 82-79, and then lost to Temple, 76-59, in the third-place game.
Darius McNeill was named to the all-tournament team after averaging a team-high 16.5 points in his two outings in Brooklyn. He also led Cal in three-pointers (8) and steals (4).
Paris Austin and
Justice Sueing also averaged double-figure totals at the tournament, with Austin contributing 13.5 points and Sueing adding 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds.
