On performance overall:
"I was very happy. I felt like we grew up today…It was a complete team effort. I was very, very happy with the first 12 minutes to start the game. Our defensive discipline, energy and execution was as good as I've seen for a while from those guys."
 
On how team "grew up" today:
"Being able to withstand them cutting it to one, and being able to make plays to make a run and make stops when we need it."
 
On withstanding Santa Clara's late run:
"I've seen a ton of development. It comes with those guys trusting each other, and having each other's backs. That's what we've been preaching all week. We've been seeing so much this season guys playing one-on-one defense, or coming to help each other, getting beat off the bounce with nobody there to help or step up. We saw them do that tonight."

On performance down the stretch:
"It felt really good. I had a slow start, and got into some early foul trouble to start the game. The last little stretch I felt really good, and I felt really confident getting the bucket and scoring down the stretch."
 
On limiting Santa Clara's performance during the last six minutes of the game:
"Observing from the sideline, I saw they were really good defensively, but soft getting to the rim. Juhwan did a great job getting to the rim, and I felt like that's what I needed to do... During that last little stretch, I zoned out and just worked hard."
 
On takeaways from tonight:
"We have to stay scrappy on the defensive end for 40 minutes. We started out really strong getting a lot of deflections, and then we went flat. Once they came back, we started to pick it back up again. Our main focus tonight was defense. We have to stay scrappy and play hard."

"I'm just trying to go in there and compete hard every time."

"It felt good to get be out there and play. My teammates trusted me and gave me a great opportunity to score."

"I was trying to put pressure on Tahj Eaddy. He's their best player and Coach had me match up against him tonight. I was trying to be disruptive any way I could."
 
 
On holding off the comeback, team's overall improvement:
"Tonight showed how together we are. We have to have each other's backs on the court and make sure we are on the same page".

"Obviously we didn't play very well in the first half. Cal did a great job of taking us out of what we wanted to do. But, perhaps no stat was more significant for us than our 22 turnovers."
