Cal makes what has lately become an annual trip across the country for the Georgia Fall Invitational Thursday-Saturday in Athens, Ga., where the Golden Bears will face some of the top teams in the country. The three-day meet features squads (with 2018 NCAA finishes in parentheses)  from Cal (2), Georgia (11), Michigan (4), Virginia (9) and UCLA (26). The finals sessions for the first two days of the meet will be streamed on espn.com/watch. In last year's meet, all five Golden Bear relays and three individuals, including returnees Abbey Weitzeil (50 and 100 free) and Amy Bilquist (200 back), earned NCAA A qualifying times, as Cal finished third in the team standings to Michigan and Georgia.

• LAST TIME OUT: McLAUGHLIN, WEITZEIL DOUBLE UP AS WINNERS VS. TEXAS
Katie McLaughlin and Abbey Weitzeil continued with their stellar seasons by winning two events apiece and Cal set a season best in every swimming race in its dual meet against Texas Nov. 10. However, the Longhorns prevailed in the final score by a 163-137 margin at Legends Aquatic Center. Weitzeil tied her own Cal dual-meet record with a victory in the 50 free (22.04), and she came back a few moments later to claim the 100 free in 48.70. McLaughlin, meanwhile, came from behind to touch first by 0.04 seconds in the 200 butterfly in 1:55.42, and she won 100 fly in 53.10.

• 10 IN A ROW AMONG NCAA TOP 3
Coming off a national runner-up finish, Cal has placed among the top three at the NCAA Championships 10 years in a row - the longest current streak in the country. Included in the run are four national titles, coming in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015. The Bears were also second in 2013, 2017 and 2018, and third in 2010, 2014 and 2016.

• GOLDEN BEAR TRIO ON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM
Three Golden Bears have been chosen to represent the United States at the 2019 World Championships in South Korea - senior Katie McLaughlin, junior Abbey Weitzeil and Kathleen Baker. McLaughlin, who will swim the 100-meter butterfly, returns to Worlds for the first time since 2015 when she earned gold in the 800 free relay. Weitzeil will be competing in her third World Championships, which included a bronze medal in the 400 free relay in 2015, and will swim the 50 free and on the 400 free relay. Baker is one of three swimmers on the roster to qualify in four events - 50, 100 and 200 back and 200 individual medley - and she will likely be on the medley relay. She earned three medals at the 2017 world meet - gold (400 medley relay), silver (100 back) and bronze (200 back).

• TERI McKEEVER INDUCTED INTO CAL ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

The 2012 U.S. Olympic head coach, McKeever has guided the Bears to four NCAA team championships and four Pac-12 team titles, among many other honors.
