California begins its penultimate regular-season road trip with a late-night tipoff from Coors Events Center on Wednesday evening when the Golden Bears meet the Buffaloes in Boulder for the first leg of the Mountain schools road trip. The action gets underway at 8 p.m. PT/9 p.m. MT, live on ESPNU and KGO 810 AM.
The Golden Bears snapped a nine-game losing streak with a total-team effort against Oregon State.
Kingsley Okoroh led Cal with his first career double-double, logging 14 points and 12 rebounds, plus five blocks. He was one of four Bears in double figures, joining
Darius McNeill (16 points),
Marcus Lee (14) and
Justice Sueing (11).
After suffering an early slump at the start of conference play, McNeill looks to be adjusting to Pac-12 play. The Houston, Texas product is now averaging 11.6 points in his last five games after averaging 8.5 in his first six conference starts. McNeill has been a threat on the perimeter all season long and is currently fourth among freshmen in Cal history with 49 three-pointers made this season. Both McNeill and Sueing have 21 treys in conference play, with Sueing developing as an all-around force. The rookie leads the Bears in scoring (17.1 points per game) and is second in rebound (6.5 rebounds per game) in league action.
Colorado returns to action following a 67-55 win over Utah at home in Boulder on Feb. 2.
