BERKELEY – Cal senior defender Kindred Paul has been named the MPSF Player of the Week.

Paul played a huge role in the No. 1 Bears' 6-3 victory over No. 6 Arizona State on Saturday. Her defensive efforts helped keep the Sun Devils scoreless in the fourth quarter when Cal broke a 3-3 tie with three unanswered goals to pull away for the victory. Paul also led a defense that held ASU to its lowest scoring output of the season.

Paul also added a goal, assist, steal and earned exclusion.

It is the first career weekly honor for Paul and the fifth for the Bears this season, tops in the conference.

The Bears are off this week before playing No. 20 San Diego State on Mar. 28.
