Senior Asha Culhane Sets A Personal Best

STANFORD, Calif. – California track & field senior Asha Culhane completed the heptathlon at the Pac-12 Combined Events Championship with a 12th place finish at Cobb Track & Angell Field on the campus of Stanford.
 
Culhane set a personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:23.03 to round out the day with her highest scoring event of the day. She notched 783 points in the 800m to finish with a total of 4632 points. That was a career best mark for Culhane after she recorded 4501 points at the Hornet Invitational in March. Culhane finished the first day of competition in 14th place, but passed two people on Sunday as she finished in 12th.
 
She recorded her best finish of the heptathlon in the long jump as she took sixth place with a leap of 18-2.50. Culhane was just off a personal best in the long jump, which stands at 18-3.75. She recorded 715 points, her third highest scoring event of the seven.
 
The rest of the track & field team will compete at the Pac-12 Championship next weekend at Cobb Track & Angell Field. The competition will begin on Saturday at 11:30 a.m and continue on Sunday on at 10:30 a.m.
