				TOKYO –
Kathleen Baker broke the meet record in capturing a gold medal the 200-meter backstroke and swam leadoff on the U.S. team that earned silver in the 4x100 medley relay on the final day of the Pan Pacific Championships Sunday.

Baker's results upped the medal haul for Golden Bear women's swimmers to four, as Baker took bronze in the 100 back and
Katie McLaughlin contributed a leg on the 4x200 free relay that earned silver.

On Sunday, Baker touched first in the 200 back in 2:06.14, a personal best. She led from the start and finished a quarter-second ahead of Canada's Taylor Ruck. The result comes on the heels of her American record in the 200-yard back at the NCAA Championships and a bronze-medal finish in the 200-meter back at last summer's World Championships.

Later in the final session, Baker swam the 100-meter backstroke leg for the United States, which finished behind Australia by half a second.

In addition to the two medals on Sunday for Baker, junior-to-be
Abbey Weitzeil placed fifth in the 50 free in 24.58 for her best time since the 2016 Olympic Trials. Earlier in the meet, McLaughlin captured the B final (9th overall) in both the 200 free (1:57.34) and the 100 fly (57.80) to go with her relay silver.
