NAPA VALLEY, Calif. – The Golden Bears captured five of six matches on Saturday in the season-opening Silverado College Invitational, with Cal winning four times in singles and splitting two doubles matches at the Silverado Resort and Spa.
 
The Bears have won all eight of their singles matches and won three of four in doubles over the first two days at Silverado.
 
On Saturday, Bjorn Hoffmann, a Cal junior, paired with sophomore Jackson Suh to topple Oklahoma State's Brady Draheim and Emile Hudd, 8-3. Sophomore Ben Draper and freshman Yuta Kikuchi fell to the Cowboys' Maxim Tybar and Luke Hammond in doubles, 8-5.
 
The Bears faced Tulsa in singles on Saturday, with Draper defeating Jarod King, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, Hoffmann beating Boriss Kamdem, 6-3, 6-1, Kikuchi besting Daniel Siddall, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6, and Suh prevailing over Tom Thelwall, 6-2, 6-1.
 
The three-day tournament concludes Sunday.
