BERKELEY – Cal sophomore Daniel Carr has been named the Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week.

Carr had a dominant week in the backstroke events during the Bears' dual-meet victories at Arizona State and Arizona. He swept the backstroke races against the Wildcats, winning the 100 back in a time of 47.67 and the 200 in 1:45.07. Against Arizona St., Carr took the 100 back with a time of 47.25 and finished second to teammate Bryce Mefford in the 200 back.

It marks the first Pac-12 honor of Carr's career.

The Bears return to Spieker Aquatics Complex on Feb. 8 for a dual meet against USC.
