California men's basketball battles Boston College in the City by the Bay for the inaugural Al Attles Classic this Saturday, tipping off at 2:30 p.m. from the Chase Center and airing live on the Pac-12 Networks.
The Golden Bears are among eight teams who will help coronate the new home of the Golden State Warriors with the first college basketball event in the arena. The tournament is hosted by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and honors legendary Warrior and 2019 Basketball Hall of Famer Attles.
The Bears head across the bridge as part of a 10-game Bay Area stretch that began on Dec. 4, led by double figure scorers in
Matt Bradley (17.4 points per game) and
Kareem South (11.4). As a team, Cal is averaging nearly 67 points and ranks 10th in the nation in 3-point FG percentage.
BC and Cal meet for the third time in program history, with the Eagles on a three-game win.

ABDUR-RAHIM HONORED WITH PETE NEWELL AWARD
This week, Cal announced 1996 Pac-12 Player of the Year and current NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim as this year's Pete Newell Career Achievement Award recipient. The annual contest honors the legacy of Cal's Hall of Fame basketball coach and is presented to a Cal men's basketball alumnus who has distinguished himself in his career accomplishments.
Abdur-Rahim will be recognized during Cal's game against Colorado on Thursday, Feb. 27 at Haas Pavilion in the 10th Pete Newell Classic.
