Eloise Riley Signs With Golden Bears
Australian Sprinter Joins Cal's 2019-20 Recruiting Class
BERKELEY – Eloise Riley, a sprint freestyle specialist from Sydney, Australia, has signed a letter of intent to swim for the Golden Bears starting in the fall of 2019.

Riley is a two-time 50- and 100-meter free champion at school nationals, and she placed third in the 50 free at club nationals in her home country. Her top time of 25.90 in the 50 free is a school record. Riley attends Pymble Ladies College and is a member of the Knox Pymble Swim Club.

Last year, Riley was named Swimmer of the Year at her high school, and also received the Pierre De Coubertin Award. In addition, she has received her school's Bronze, Silver, Gold Medallion for high level of achievement in academics and varsity sports.

An all-around athlete, Riley has competed in soccer, field hockey and cross country, as well as swimming. Her family has a strong swimming history as her mother, Anne, was a collegiate swimmer at Harvard, while an aunt and uncle swam at Harvard and Stanford, respectively.

Riley becomes the 10th recruit to sign with Cal this year, joining a group
announced in November.
