BERKELEY – California starts Pac-12 Conference play when the Golden Bears (2-5) host No. 21 Arizona (10-1) on Friday at 5 p.m. and host Arizona State (4-5) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hellman Tennis Complex.

The Bears had been scheduled to host nonconference matches against Saint Mary's and Pacific on Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. But due to rain in the forecast, those matches were postponed until next Monday, March 11, with Cal now playing Pacific at 10:30 a.m. and then facing the Gaels at 3 p.m. at the Hellman Tennis Complex.

Poll Position
In Tuesday's Oracle ITA doubles rankings, the duo of sophomore Jacob Brumm and freshman Yuta Kikuchi (11-8 record) is ranked No. 11 and the team of sophomores Paul Barretto and Can Kaya (14-1) is ranked 33rd.

But the Golden Bears – seeded second – fell to the ninth-seeded Cardinal duo, 8-2, at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.

Cal associate head coach Tyler Browne and partner Nick Brunner also competed in the quarterfinals of the open tournament. But the pair – which was tied for second nationally in the men's 30 age group entering the tournament – lost to USC'S Brandon Holt and Riley Smith, 8-6.

On Feb. 28, the Bears fell to No. 32 Oklahoma State, 4-2, at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. Kikuchi contributed a point for Cal when he beat Mathiu Scaglia, 6-2, 7-6, at court-two singles, while junior Dominic Barretto beat OSU's Brady Draheim, 6-2, 6-4, on court six.
