Announcement Made Live Tuesday On GOLF Channel With Morikawa On Golf Central Set
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Collin Morikawa became the first Cal men's golfer to earn four All-American honors when he was named a Division I PING First-Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday. Morikawa is also the first from Cal to earn three first-team All-American honors in each of his final three seasons after being selected a third-team as a true freshman in 2015-16.
"It's truly an honor to be a four-time All-American," said Morikawa, who was a guest on GOLF Channel's Golf Central set for the announcement. "Coming into college that was definitely one of my goals and to know that each year my game has continued to improve is very exciting. I'll be able to look back at these four years and draw upon all the great memories. I'm very thankful for this opportunity to come to Cal and grow both as a person and in my golf game simultaneously."
"To be named an All-American all four years is an incredible accomplishment that places Collin among the elite college golfers of all time," Alex and Marie Shipman Director of Men's Golf
