LAKE NONA, Florida – Cal women's tennis All-American Haley Giavara faced a familiar opponent in her first-round match of the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, with the Golden Bear playing N.C. State's sixth-seeded Anna Rogers on Thursday. The San Diego product lost to the Wolfpack veteran, 7-6(3), 6-1, in the singles round of 32 at the USTA National Campus.
 
In the 2019 tournament, Cal's Giavara and Anna Bright battled N.C. State's Rogers and Alana Smith in the doubles semifinals, falling 6-2, 5-7, 10-5, in Newport Beach, California.
 
On Friday in the 2020 fall nationals, Giavara will take on another N.C. State player in Jaeda Daniel not before 1:30 p.m. ET in a consolation match. Live scores are available by clicking here.
