NEWPORT BEACH – The No. 7 Cal women's water polo team scored the game's last five goals to register a 10-6 comeback victory over No. 8 UC San Diego on Sunday on the final day of the Barbara Kalbus Invitational.

After the Tritons took a 6-5 lead on a penalty shot with 2:21 remaining in the third quarter, the Bears put the clamps down defensively while getting goals from five different players. Junior Georgia Gilmore evened the score with a goal at the 1:52 mark of the third quarter before freshman Cecily Turner put Cal in front for good with a power play goal with 50 seconds left in the period.

Junior Brigit Mulder and freshmen Helena Batey and Shea Salvino added fourth-quarter goals to help polish off the victory.

Mulder, Gilmore and Salvino each finished with two goals apiece. Mulder scored 10 goals during the tournament.

Junior goalie Cassidy Ball made nine saves for the Bears.

Cal has a bye next week before opening MPSF play on March 7 against No. 2 UCLA at Spieker Aquatics Complex. The opening sprint is schedule for 12 p.m.
