Gymnast Grateful For Her Time At Cal
I am still in absolute shock that my 15-year-long gymnastics career came to an abrupt end with the blink of an eye. I am still trying to adjust to the fact that I will never do gymnastics ever again. Gymnastics is not the kind of sport that you are able to do when you are older, so I wish I was able to soak in those last couple of competitions and practices as if they were my last.Â
Â
I was excited to walk onto the floor with my family for my senior meet. I wanted to redeem myself from the fall I had on floor in our last meet at UCLA. I wanted to see all of our hard work pay off and experience our team going to Nationals one last time. There were so many things that I was looking forward to in these last couple months of my gymnastics career, and I was definitely not ready to say goodbye to all of that just yet.Â
Â
This past season was definitely my favorite out of the past three seasons I have competed as a Cal gymnast. Our team connection and passion has been the strongest as I have ever seen, and I am super disappointed that we weren't able to show off the hard grind we have consistently been putting into the gym since the start of the school year. I loved and enjoyed each and every day I spent with the girls on this team, as well as the staff. They all have become a huge part of my family, and I am honestly going to miss seeing their faces every single day.Â
Â
I am forever grateful that Cal Women's Gymnastics has given me the opportunity to grow into the best gymnast I have ever been, as well as the guidance they given me to grow into the adult I am today. Even though this is the end of my gymnastics career, it is not the end to my connection with Cal Women's Gymnastics. I am looking forward to applying everything I have learned and encountered as a Cal gymnast into my daily life.Â
Â
Every challenge and life lesson I have gained from my experience here at Cal has definitely made me #OneDayBetter, and I am definitely going to apply this motive into my personal and professional development that I will pursue after I graduate. I know that I will always have the loving support system from the staff and my teammates no matter where I am in life. Even though my senior season has been cut short, the opportunities and privileges I have gained from being a collegiate gymnast at Cal will expand indefinitely, and there are no words to describe how lucky I am to have those experiences.Â
Â
As a farewell, I would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my entire gymnastics career.
