Callan Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
Pole Vaulter Led Bears With 3.97 GPA.
BERKELEY - California sophomore track & field athlete
Tess Callan was named to the 2020 Google Cloud Academic First-Team All-District® Cross Country/Track & Field Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
This is Callan's first-career CoSIDA Academic All-District honor. She will advance to the national Academic All-America ballot where first-, second-, and third-team honorees will be selected.
A native of Los Altos, Calif., Callan set a personal record mark of 3.71 meters (12-2) at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational Feb. 13 in Albuquerque, N.M. and followed with a top height of 3.70 meters (12-1.5) to take third-place at the Cal Opener in Berkeley on March 7.
Holding a sterling 3.97 GPA as a mechanical engineering major, Callan has collected multiple academic honors this season. She was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team for the 2020 indoor season, and also earned the Golden Bear Award for Women's Track & Field, presented to the student-athlete with the top GPA on each team at Cal.
