Rabb Earns NBA G League Sportsmanship Award

Men’s Basketball Standout Ivan Rabb Earns The 2019-20 NBA G League Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award

Former California men's basketball standout Ivan Rabb (2015-17) is the 2019-20 recipient of the NBA G League's Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award, the league announced Tuesday.

The award, which is voted on by all NBA G League players, honors the player who best represents the ideas of character and conduct on the court and in the community.

Rabb spent his third season in the NBA G League with the Westchester Knicks, the developmental affiliate of the New York Knicks. While in Westchester, he helped unload 1,000 turkeys to Feeding Westchester through the Stop & Shop Turkey Express program. Back home in Oakland, Rabb has also been active in local youth athletic initiatives and helped facilitate curbside meal giveaways, including for the elderly in COVID-19 relief efforts, in partnership with Devaughn's Cajun Kitchen.

On the court, Rabb averaged 16.5 points and a league-high 12.1 rebounds in his 29 appearances with Westchester this year.

The Sportsmanship Award honors former NBA G League, Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks center Jason Collier, who passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 15, 2005, just short of his sixth NBA season. Each NBA G League team nominated one player for the Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award, which is voted on by all NBA G League players.
