No. 1 Bears Head To Pac-12 Championships
Coming Off Undefeated Dual-Meet Season, Cal Seeks Conference Title
Top-ranked California moves into the next phase of its season this week with the Pac-12 Championships running Wednesday through Sunday. The swimming events will be held at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center on the University of Houston campus, while the diving events will take place at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
The Golden Bears are coming off a successful, if abbreviated, dual-meet campaign in which they swept USC, UCLA and Stanford in convincing fashion. To date, Cal swimmers have broken 11 school dual-meet records, 11 Spieker Aquatics Complex records and one school record.
The Bears have placed second at the Pac-12 Championships each of the past four years, and they own four all-time titles with the most recent coming in 2015. Cal swimmers have also captured a combined 142 individual and relay championships at the conference meet.
Finals from both swimming and diving will either be streamed through Pac-12.com and the Pac-12 Now app or shown over the linear Pac-12 Network. For the most up-to-date information, visit Pac-12.com.

IVEY A 2-TIME PAC-12 SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Cal competed in dual meets on two weekends after the first of the year, and on both occasions, junior
Isabel Ivey earned Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week honors. First, the Bears swept USC and UCLA in a pair of two-day meets Jan. 29-31 in Berkeley, with Ivey establishing Spieker Aquatics Complex and Cal dual-meet records in the 100 fly (51.54 vs. USC) and 100 free (then-PR 47.53 vs. UCLA), while also swimming a leg on four pool and dual-meet record-setting relays – the 200 and 400 free relay and the 200 and 400 free relay. Overall, Ivey won 11 of the 12 races she entered, with the only loss a runner-up finish to teammate
Alicia Wilson, who set a pool record in the 200 individual medley against UCLA. Then at Stanford on Feb. 13, Ivey earned three individual wins - 100 back (51.12), 100 free (PR 47.24) and 100 fly (51.68) - and swam a leg on the Bears' victorious 200 medley relay. Both the 100 back and 100 free were new Cal dual-meet marks.
CAL ON THE NCAA BEST TIMES LIST: Entering this week's meet, Cal boasts 16 individual swims and four relays that rank among the top 16 in the country, including 12 among the top 8. The Bears have two swimmers ranked in five different events and have a trio of swimmers rated among the top 3.
