Golden Bears Head To Stanford Golf Course For The Goodwin
BERKELEY – California men's golf will compete in its fourth tournament of the spring this week, playing in The Goodwin at Stanford Golf Course (par 70). The 54-hole tourney will take place Thursday, March 25 through Saturday, March 27.
The annual event hosted by Stanford will feature a field of 28 teams: Stanford, Arizona State, TCU, Nevada, Denver, Colorado, San Diego, Georgia Tech, Washington State, Cal Baptist, USC, SMU, Long Beach, FAU, Cal, Minnesota, BYU, Saint Mary's, Pacific, UC Davis, Cal Poly, Santa Clara, Northwestern, Washington, Oregon, San Jose State, UCLA and Pepperdine. The Cardinal is the defending champion, winning the event in 2019 with a score of 832 (-8). 2020's tournament was canceled. The last Golden Bear to win The Goodwin was Han Lee in 2000 (201).

The Bears finished 13th at the Cabo Collegiate on March 3, led by freshman
Sampson Zheng whose 225 (+9) strokes placed him in a tie for 43rd. Senior
Finigan Tilly (T53), freshman
Aaron Du (T56) and
James Song (T60) also scored for the Bears earlier this month.
