Five Bears Win School Record 12 All-Conference Honors
DeSouza, George, Bordas, Li And Schank Earn Recognition From The Pac-12
SAN FRANCISCO – Cal women's gymnastics was honored with 12 All-Pac-12 Awards by five different gymnasts when the conference office announced their yearly awards on Friday.

The Bears set a school record with 12 honors. They tied UCLA for the most all-conference nods, with both edging out Utah who had 11. Last year, Cal set a school record as five gymnasts earned eight honors.
George was named First Team All-Around, First Team Balance Beam, First Team Floor Exercise and Honorable Mention Vault. The senior earned three awards last year and now has seven all-conference honors in her career. George had 14 event wins this year. She ranks sixth in the Pac-12 in the all-around, second on floor, fifth on balance beam and seventh on vault. She has 14 scores at 9.90+ this year, including six on the floor exercise. She set a career high 9.975 on floor at Cal's senior meet vs. Washington. George was the Pac-12 Champion on the floor and is also one of six finalists for the AAI Award for the top senior gymnast in the country.
DeSouza has been a consistent force all season and ranks 10
th in the country and second in the Pac-12 in the all-around. She has an NQS of 39.575. She posted a 39.600 mark twice this season, which is tied for fifth in school history in the all-around. DeSouza has won three all-around competitions this year and finished third in the all-around at the Pac-12 Championship. DeSouza has posted 14 scores at 9.90+ including five on both vault and the uneven bars. Last year's Pac-12 Freshman of the Year posted career highs with 9.925 scores on both events. She ranks third in the conference on the vault, sixth on the bars and seventh on beam.
Bordas was named to the conference's first team in the uneven bars and was an honorable mention in the all-around. She was named first team on both bars and all-around in 2020. Bordas is ranked seventh in the conference in the all-around as she has a 39.431 NQS, with a high of 39.550. The junior is ranked sixth in the conference in the uneven bars this year with an NQS of 9.906, tied with DeSouza. Bordas had a career-high 9.975 performance vs. UCLA and won two uneven bars titles this year while featuring for the top uneven bars rotation in the country.
Schank and Li were both named to the uneven bars first team. They were both tabbed to the second team regular season All-Americans on the uneven bars earlier this week. Schank is ranked ninth in the country and second in the Pac-12 on the uneven bars as she has won five uneven bars competitions this year and has a national qualifying score of 9.931. She recorded a career-high 9.95 in Cal's NCAA record-tying team performance vs. UCLA as the team recorded a 49.825. Li recorded a career high 9.975 that afternoon vs. the Bruins, which has helped the freshman to the 11
th-best NQS in the country and third in the conference. Two of Li's five event victories have come on the uneven bars this year.

Elisabeth Crandall-Howell were named Pac-12 Co-Coaches of the Year at the conclusion of the championship meet on Saturday. It was the third Pac-12 Coach of the Year honor for Howell and the first for Crandall-Howell.
