Thirteen Bears Officially Recognized As 2020-21 All-Americans

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – California saw 13 men's swimmers earn 2020-21 All-America status from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Tuesday following the conclusion of the NCAA Championships on March 24-27.
 
Senior Ryan Hoffer led the way for Cal as one of just three swimmers to capture the maximum of seven first-team honors. He is one of just four swimmers since 2000 to sweep his three individual events at the NCAA Championships after winning the 50-yard freestyle, 100 free and 100 fly. Hoffer swam on four relays, helping Cal win NCAA titles in two of them (200 free relay, 400 free relay).
 
Daniel Carr, Destin Lasco and Björn Seeliger hauled in six All-America honors apiece, tied for the second-most on the team. Joining Lasco and Seeliger as first-time honorees were Nate Biondi, Colby Mefford and Dare Rose.
 
Thirteen of the 16 swimmers that Cal sent to Greensboro, North Carolina for NCAAs earned All-America status in at least one event.
