The Bears are the second seed in the regional and will face off with No. 12 BYU, Ohio State and Towson in the first regional semifinal at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on Friday. If Cal can be one of the two best teams of that session they will advance to the regional final, which will take place on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET. Cal has accumulated awards over the last week as Justin Howell and Liz Crandall-Howell were named the Pac-12 Co-Coaches of the Year. Kyana George was named as an AAI Award Finalist as one of the top six senior gymnasts in the country. Cal also had four regular season All-Americans and five gymnasts win 12 All-Conference honors, both of which are program highs.

This year the Bears set program records on the uneven bars, balance beam, floor and overall team score. They tied a 17-year old NCAA record on the uneven bars with a 49.825 score against UCLA and have the top uneven bars rotation in the country.
