Bears Place Five On IRCA All-America Team
Three Named To First Team; Two Others Earn Second Team Honors
The Cal men's rowing team had five student-athletes named to the inaugural IRCA All-America Team.
Recent graduates
Brett Cataldo,
George Finlayson and
Jack Robertson were named to the First Team while graduate
Wibout Rustenburg and rising senior
Olav Molenaar earned Second Team accolades.
Cataldo served as the coxswain for the Bears' varsity eight for the second straight season and led the boat to a second-place finish at the IRA National Championships. Finlayson, Robertson, Molenaar and Rustenburg all rowed in the varsity eight, which also placed second at the Pac-12 Championships.
Cataldo, Robertson and Finlayson were each named to the All-Pac-12 Team as well. Finlayson was also the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
