BERKELEY – The California men's tennis pair of Mikey Wright and John Kim won twice Saturday at the Hellman Tennis Complex to reach the doubles final of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.
 
The fourth-seeded Kim and Wright began the day by defeating Mitchell Davis and Andrei Volgin of UC Davis, 8-6, in the morning quarterfinals. Later, in the last match of the day at regionals in Berkeley, the two Golden Bears beat Stanford's top-seeded Neel Rajesh and Filip Kolasainski, 7-5, 6-4, in the semifinals.
 
The other doubles semi – featuring Nevada's Satchel Benn and Loris Zisswiller vs. Pacific's Ran Amar and Andre Rodeia – will be played on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Hellman.
 
Two Bears vied to reach the singles final. But in the morning quarterfinals at Hellman, Cal's seventh-seeded Alex Chang fell to the Cardinal's top-seeded Kolasainski, 6-2, 6-2, and the Bears' third-seeded Lucas Magnaudet lost to Ryan Torres of UC Davis, 6-3, 6-4.
 
The ITA Northwest Regional Championships will continue on Sunday, with matches starting at 9 a.m., and will conclude on Monday.
