Bears Move Up Two Spots At Northrop Grumman
Zhu Leads Cal With Even-Par Round
PALOS VERDES ESTATES – Senior
Katherine Zhu shot even-par 71 to lead the Cal women's golf team's efforts during the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Tuesday.
Zhu was one of four Golden Bears who improved her score over the first round after shooting 5-over par on Monday. She sits in a tie for 30
th place out of 84 golfers heading into Wednesday's final round.
Sophomores
Mika Jin and
Cristina Ochoa each shot 1-over par Tuesday and are each at 7-over par for the tournament.
The Bears moved up two places in the team standings after improving by 13 strokes over their first-round total. They sit in 12
th place in the 16-team field, 10 of which are ranked in the latest Golfstat top-25.
Wednesday's final round is a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. PT.
