TEMPE, Ariz. – Senior Emma Wright had a six-point game with two goals and four assists and goalie Isabel Williams continued her dominant season with 15 saves as the No. 4 Cal women's water polo team rolled past No. 9 Arizona State 15-7 on Friday afternoon at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.

Sophomore Ruby Swadling scored four goals while senior Kitty Lynn Joustra added three goals and an assist, as the Bears (13-2, 2-2 MPSF) won their second straight conference game and defeated the Sun Devils for the third time this season.

After neither team scored for the first half of the first quarter, Joustra and freshman Rozanne Voorvelt found the cage within 43 seconds of each other to give the Bears a 2-0 lead. The Sun Devils got one back on a penalty shot early in the second, but Cal scored four in a row before NCAA scoring leader Vanda Baksa of ASU trimmed the deficit to 6-2 just before halftime.

The Sun Devils remained as close as 9-5 late in the third quarter but the Bears allowed just one more goal the rest of the way to pull away.

Williams, the reigning MPSF Player of the Week, added two assists and a steal. She leads the conference with 10.7 saves per game and has registered double-digit save performances in six of the past seven games.

In three games against Arizona St. this season, the Bears have outscored the Sun Devils 43-20.

Cal continues its road trip Monday when it visits No. 15 Indiana.
