SAN FRANCISCO/NAPA, Calif. – The Cal men's tennis team swept the doubles semifinals of the Battle in the Bay Classic on Saturday to set up an all-Golden Bears Sunday final at the California Tennis Club, with one Cal duo upsetting the nation's top-ranked team to advance in the San Francisco tournament.
 
Cal juniors Lucas Magnaudet and Ryder Jackson defeated TCU's top-ranked Fomba and Jacob Fearnley – also the tournament's top seed – 8-6, in their semifinal. The Bears' second-seeded and 62nd-ranked Yuta Kikuchi and Carl Emil Overbeck beat Oklahoma's 51st-ranked Alex Martinez and Nathan Han, 8-4, to set up the clash with their teammates. The Bears play the final at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
 
Jackson also faced Fearnley in the singles semifinals, but the 65th-ranked Horned Frog edged the Bear, 7-6(8), 7-6(4).
 
Meanwhile at the Silverado Resort & Spa, Cal sophomore Alex Chang and freshman John Kim went unbeaten in singles and doubles on day two of the Napa Valley Invitational. Chang, now 2-0 in singles at Silverado, bested San Francisco's Johan Garpered, 6-2, 6-2, with Kim beating USF's Luka Kalenic, 6-0, 6-2. In doubles, the two Bears topped UNLV's Milos Dabic and Eduardo Cohen, 8-3
 
As with the Battle in the Bay Classic, the Napa Valley Invitational ends Sunday.
