Bears Announce 2022-23 Schedule
Reigning National Champions Opens Season On Sept. 30
BERKELEY – The California men's swimming & diving team has announced its 2022-23 schedule. The reigning national champions will host four regular season competitions, while once again returning to the mid-season Minnesota Invite Nov. 30-Dec. 3.
The Bears return to the pool Friday, Sept. 30, when the Bears participate in the annual King of the Pool pentathlon hosted by Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. Two weeks later, the Bears host their first home meet of the season when Utah comes to Spieker Aquatics Complex for a Pac-12 dual meet against Utah on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Cal will then host Pacific for a non-conference dual meet on Thursday, Oct. 27.
November will begin and end with some big meets. Cal opens the month traveling to Stanford, California to participate in the annual Triple Distance Meet against Stanford on Friday, November 4. A week later, Cal's diving team will travel to Los Angeles to participate in USC's three-day Trojan Diving Invitational. Cal wraps up the month of November and opens December with a trip to the prestigious four-day Minnesota Invite, hosted by the Golden Gophers at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. The event begins Wednesday, Nov. 30, and concludes on Saturday. Dec. 3.
The 2023 calendar begins with the Bears sending a split squad south to Southern California and Arizona. A portion of Cal's roster will swim at UC San Diego in the Triton Invitational on Jan. 20-21, while the other half of the Bears will take on Pac-12 foes Arizona on Friday and Arizona State on Saturday in
Tucson and Tempe.
The regular season concludes with a pair of Pac-12 duals. First, the Bears host USC on Friday, Dec. 3, and will then wrap up the regular season by hosting the Cardinal on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Postseason play begins with the Pac-12 Diving Championships (Feb. 22-25) and Pac-12 Swimming Championships (March 1-4). The Pac-12 Championships will return to the Weyerhaeuser King Country Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington. Two weeks later, the postseason will build with the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships March 6-8 in Federal Way. The NCAA Championships will take place March 22-25 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
Admission to all home meets at Spieker Aquatics Complex is free.
