No. 11 Bears Fall To Arizona State

Stadden Picks Up Three Victories Against Sun Devils

TEMPE, Ariz. – Junior Isabelle Stadden swept both individual backstroke events but the No. 11 Cal women's swimming & diving team fell to Arizona State 191.5-96.5 in a Pac-12 dual meet on Saturday at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.

Stadden, the reigning Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month who owns top-5 times nationally in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events, took the 100 back in a time of 53.02. She then won the 200 back by almost three seconds over her closest pursuer with a mark of 1:54.82.

Stadden also teamed up with Jade Neser, Mia Kragh and McKenna Stone to capture the 200 medley relay by almost two full seconds, clocking in at 1:37.57.

Stone won the 50 freestyle event in a time of 23.06 while Kragh tied for a victory in the 100 butterfly with a mark of 53.48.

The Sun Devils raced in technical suits while the Bears did not.

The Bears return home next week for their final home dual meets of the season against USC and UCLA. Next Saturday's matchup with UCLA will also serve as Senior Day.
