Salvino Named MPSF Player Of The Week
Senior Attacker Led No. 4 Bears To Three Wins Over Top-10 Opponents

Shea Salvino has been named the MPSF Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Salvino played an instrumental role in the No. 4 Cal women's water polo team's successful season-opening weekend at the Bulldog Fest in Fresno. She totaled seven goals across three victories over top-10 opponents, including three goals and an assist in a 13-10 victory over No. 7 Michigan. Salvino registered two goals apiece during wins over No. 5 UC Irvine and No. 8 Fresno State.
This is Salvino's second career weekly MPSF honor – she was also named MPSF Newcomer of the Week in 2020.
The Bears make their home debut this weekend at the Cal Cup at Spieker Aquatics Complex and Legends Aquatic Center. Cal will take on No. 13 San Jose State, No. 1 Stanford and No. 12 UC Davis.
