Bears End Run In KPSF Open
SAN FRANCISO – The California men's tennis run in the KPSF Open – a professional tournament held at the Goldman Tennis Center in Golden Gate Park – ended Saturday night, when freshman
Tim Stepanov lost to the University of San Francisco's Moritz Hoffmann, 6-2, 7-5, in the semifinals.

Several other Golden Bears competed in the tournament, which began Wednesday. Those Bears included
Derrick Chen, who reached the quarterfinals;
Carl Emil Overbeck,
Jonathan Irwanto and
John Kim, who advanced to the round of 16; and
Alex Aney,
Lucas Magnaudet and
Ethan Schiffman.
Cal returns to collegiate action when the Bears start play in the ITA Northwest Super Regional Championships on Friday, Oct. 20, at Stanford.
