MINNEAPOLIS - Isabelle Stadden wrapped up a dominant Minnesota Invitational on Saturday by winning the 200-yard backstroke with the fastest time in the nation this season as the No. 13 California women's swimming & diving team easily took the team title over runner-up Minnesota.

Stadden, who placed third in the 200 back at last season's NCAA Championships and grew up in Blaine, Minn., touched the wall in a time of 1:49.21 to sweep both backstroke events at the meet. Graduate student Mia Motekaitis was second in a time of 1:53.98.

Including relays, Stadden notched five victories at the Minnesota Invitational.

Graduate student Rachel Klinker won the 200 butterfly in a time of 1:53.82 - the sixth-fastest time in the country this season.

Cal dominated the 200 breaststroke event, taking the top four places with junior Alicia Henry winning in a time of 2:08.84. Graduate student Hannah Brunzell (2:10.14), sophomore Abby Herscu (2:12.17) and freshman Kathryn Hazle (2:13.21) followed Henry.

The Bears had five of the top-8 in the 100 freestyle event, with fifth-year Eloise Riley placing second in a time of 48.94. Junior McKenna Stone was third (49.09), Ella Mazurek finished fourth (49.12), junior Morgan Brophy placed sixth (49.33) and senior Emily Gantriis was seventh.

Cal now takes a break from competition until it resumes Pac-12 competition on January 19 against Arizona at Spieker Aquatics Complex.
