No. 7 Cal Hosts No. 6 UCLA in Pivotal Pac-12 Meet
Bears Face Bruins in Final Pac-12 Home Meet of the Season
BERKELEY – The No. 7 California women's gymnastics team (9-0-1, 3-0-1) is back in Haas Pavilion this weekend playing host to No. 6 UCLA (5-4-1, 2-1-1) in a pivotal Pac-12 meet. First rotation is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The Bears are the conference's sole undefeated team and are coming off their only weekend without a win, tying with No. 12 Oregon State last Friday 197.375-197.375. A clutch performance by junior
Gabby Perea, who secured a 9.925 on the final routine of the meet, protected her team's unbeaten record and preserved a possible chance at history. A win this weekend over the Bruins would set the record for the best start in program history at 10-0-1. Junior
Andi Li was a force in the battle with the Beavers tying for first on the uneven bars with a 9.975 and taking second in the all-around with a 39.625. Her all-around score tied the fourth-highest mark in the Cal record book, and she also took second on floor, third on vault, and fourth on beam.
Cal comes into the weekend with an average score of 197.317 that falls just shy of UCLA's 197.425. After falling to the Pac-12's top team in No. 4 Utah two weeks ago, the Bruins bounced back this past weekend at home topping No. 20 Arizona State 197.800-196.900. It was the second-highest score of the season for UCLA with its season-high coming back in January where the team notched a 197.850 at the Wasatch Classic. The Bruins are led by Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles who earned a perfect 10 on floor and recorded a career-high 39.825 in the all-around last weekend.
With the Pac-12 season winding down, this meet could be critical to each team's chance at winning the regular season title.
TITLE IX MEET
Saturday's contest marks the Bears' Fifty Years of Title IX Meet celebrating the continuous growth of women's collegiate athletics and gender equality in sport. She is credited with helping create the Women's Gymnastics Endowment Scholarship and is a Builder of Berkeley within the Cal Athletics Fund.

LI LEADS THE WAY
Much of the Bears' early season success can be attributed to junior
Andi Li. The three-time All-American has not only been consistent, but also dominant, with eight event wins already and 16 podium finishes in just six meets. She took home the all-around title at the Super 16 and placed second at the Wasatch Classic behind only US Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey from Oregon State. In that meet Li posted a career-high 39.675, which is the second-highest score in program history. She followed by taking second in the all-around at Arizona with a bars title and won bars, floor, and the all-around in the team's home opener with Stanford.
Li currently ranks fifth in the country on bars with a 9.946 average. Her season-high of 9.975 came on two occasions at the Super 16 and at Oregon State. Those marks are not only a career-highs for Li, but the second-highest score by any Bear in history. She is also ranked 45th on beam and 14th in the all-around with a 39.471 average.
LAUZON TIES ALL-AROUND RECORD
On Feb. 4 sophomore
Mya Lauzon etched her name into the Cal record book by tying the program's all-around record in her first all-around win. She notched a 39.700 tying a score that was last secured by Toni-Ann Williams in 2018. Lauzon was on an absolute terror in the meet taking first on beam (9.925) and winning a share of both the vault (9.925) and the floor (9.950) titles. She finished tied for second on bars with a 9.900.
